The existing exterior stone walls are preserved in the addition to give the interior tactility and a sense of connection to the outdoors. The addition is clad in brick up to the level of the top of the stone wall. The color and texture of the brick complements the stone. Arched openings in the brickwork replicate the existing jack arches at door and window openings with their brick surrounds in the stonework.

Above the brickwork the exterior of the addition is clad in a system of fiber cement panels and vertical battens. A copper-clad water table at the juncture is aligned with an existing water table at the top of the stonework. The paneling and trim relate to the original stucco and half-timbering, although lightened in dimension and color.

Standing seam copper is used on the cricket between the gable roof of the master bedroom and the stair tower, on the bay window roof and on the two bracketed entrance canopy roofs.

The entire house received new electrical, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning systems. The main stair is restored to its original layout with the balustrade fabricated to match the original. The stained glass window in the stairwell is restored. Choices of interior finishes, including cobalt blue tiles, white kitchen cabinetry and glass candle chandeliers are influenced by the Swedish heritage of one of the owners.

Exterior landscape work includes new walks, steps, walls, a terrace, perimeter fencing and raised garden beds.
